What it is like

An accurate description, including the parts that are hard.

The scope is unusually wide, the team is unusually small, and both of those things are the point.

You will see a signal travel the whole distance — captured at an antenna, reduced in an FPGA, classified on a GPU, resolved into a bearing, and drawn on a map that someone uses to make a decision. Very few places let one engineer follow that entire path.

It also means ambiguity, unfinished tooling and problems that nobody on the team has solved before. If that reads as a warning rather than an invitation, this is probably not the right time to join.

    RF and analogue engineering

    Antenna arrays, front-end conditioning, board design. The part of the system where the physics is unforgiving and simulation only takes you so far.

    FPGA and DSP

    High-rate digital signal processing: channelisation, filtering, spectrum generation, direction-finding preprocessing, all under hard real-time constraints.

  • 03

    Machine learning

    Signal classification from RF features, anomaly detection for unknown emitters, and the data pipeline — real captures and simulation — that makes either possible.

  • 04

    Embedded and systems

    Bring-up, embedded Linux, device drivers, GPU edge compute, and the orchestration that keeps a field unit running unattended.

    Operator software

    The application an operator actually looks at: real-time map visualisation, track presentation, configuration and playback, designed for use under pressure.
